EV Champion win at Greenfleet Awards 2015
Mike Potter, Managing Director of Fleetdrive (before it became DriveElectric), was presented with an ‘EV Champion’ award at the annual GreenFleet Awards ceremony at Edgbaston Stadium on Thursday October 22, by celebrity host Jo Caulfield.
The award is presented to individuals championing the electric vehicle (EV) cause, as identified by the panel of judges from various sectors across the industry.
Mike established Fleetdrive Electric, a specialist stream of Fleetdrive, the vehicle leasing business, back in 2011 to deliver expertise at the forefront of this developing market.
Where others in the vehicle leasing industry have been wary of the practicality of electric vehicles and hesitant to promote them for business use, Mike has led and inspired his team in a proactive approach to address the needs, and often calm the fears, of clients who could benefit from adopting the new technology within their fleet.
Creating new service products and processes designed to introduce EV’s to organisations, including ULEV Salary sacrifice and EV Flexi-Lease, Fleetdrive’s staff have become the most knowledgeable in the industry when it comes to EV’s. Their trailblazing approach to the ULEV market, and participation in pioneering projects, continues to inspire and enthuse others.
It was a double achievement for Fleetdrive, as they were also ‘highly commended’, for the third year running, as ‘Vehicle Leasing Company of the Year’; an award which represents the vehicle leasing company that has made the biggest strides towards environmental considerations in its leasing policies.
Mike Potter said; “Being shortlisted to the final was a great achievement for us. Our small business in Marlow were up against some of the biggest names in UK vehicle leasing. The fact that our work at the forefront of electric vehicle adoption together with our commitment to reducing the carbon footprints of fleets has been recognised in the industry makes our team very proud.”
BMW was announced as the ‘Fleet Car Manufacturer of the year’ and the ‘Industry Innovation award’ went to Toyota.
