EDF Energy, the UK’s largest producer of low-carbon electricity, has chosen DriveElectric to be its official personal leasing partner to support customers in switching to electric vehicles.
DriveElectric, an electric vehicle specialist with over 20 years leasing and electric vehicle experience, will offer a one-stop solution to EDF Energy customers looking to find the right electric vehicle, most suitable lease terms and the best charging set up.
Working together gives DriveElectric the potential opportunity to connect with millions of residential customers across the UK and share their expert electric vehicle knowledge.

EDF Energy has almost 20 years’ experience in the UK EV market, having installed the first charging points into London in 1999 and powering the EV charging network across Olympic sites for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.

The initiative is part of EDF Energy’s GoElectric package, which aims to make the transition to electric vehicles hassle-free. Customers who visit edfenergy.com/electric-cars can see a full range of vehicle and charging options and are then put in direct contact with the DriveElectric team to help them through all the stages of the process: from sourcing and charging to driving an electric vehicle and beyond.
The GoElectric tariff offers cheap off-peak charging, at just 8.01p per kWh, from 9pm until 7am on weekdays and all weekend. Peak rates are from 15.98p, with a daily standing charge from 27.13p (depending on region), to ensure total bills remains competitive, even if EV drivers occasionally top up their car battery during the day.
