Volkswagen Group EV deliveries up 25 per cent
Over 350,000 pure electric vehicles have been handed over to Volkswagen customers in the first nine months of 2022
Despite ongoing supply challenges facing the German manufacturer, Volkswagen Group has announced it had delivered over 366,000 all-electric vehicles between January and September of 2022, an increase of 25 per cent over the same period in 2021.
Although Europe remains the largest market for Volkswagen Group's electric vehicles, it was over in China which saw the lion's share of growth in 2022, with deliveries up over 70 per cent compared to 2021. In contract, Europe deliveries grew by only 1.6 per cent to 83,100 units.

Leading the pure electric charge is the Volkswagen ID.4 which is proving to be an extremely popular EV, thanks to its great mix of family-friendly SUV proportions and kerb appeal. Adding to the ID.4 numbers is the coupe version, the ID.5 which adds a sportier twist into proceedings.
The VW Group has also been prioritizing ID.4 production over other models as it continues to juggle with supply chain difficulties.
Some way behind the ID.4 is the Volkswagen ID.3 the 45,500 units delivered around the globe, hampered by VW Group reducing production on the ID.3 to focus on the ID.4.
Looking beyond the Volkswagen badge, more pure electric models from the extended group's brands all make an appearance, with the Skoda Enyaq proving to be particularly popular.
And if you're wondering what the Volkswagen ID.6 is and why you haven't seen it on the motorway, well that's a (so far at least) China-only EV produced in collaboration with Chinese manufacturer FAW. Although it shares the same MEB platform as the ID.4 and Q4 e-tron the ID.6 is around 30 cms longer and features a third row of seats in the rear.
