Volvo unveils their small but mighty all-electric EX30 SUV in Milan
The all-electric EX30, Volvo's first small luxury SUV, was created to meet market demand for a more compact SUV.
The all-new fully electric Volvo EX30 small SUV has been unveiled and it’s available with three electric powertrains.
The Single Motor option with 272hp and 51kWh battery delivers up to (WLTP) 214 miles of range. The Single Motor Extended Range with 272hp and 69kWh battery gives up to (WLTP) 298 miles of range. The Twin Motor Performance with 428hp and 69kWh battery has up to (WLTP) 286 miles of range.
The single-motor option has an LFP standard-range battery, which uses lithium iron phosphate chemistry, and is more cost-effective and less resource-intensive to produce, whilst the Single Motor Extended Range variant has an NMC (lithium, nickel, manganese and cobalt) extended-range battery.
The Twin Motor Performance variant pairs the NMC battery with an additional second e-motor, giving all-wheel drive, and a 0-62 mph acceleration time of just 3.6 seconds – making it the fastest-accelerating Volvo car ever. And the extended-range Twin Motor variant has a charging capacity of up to 153kW, while the standard-range car has a capacity of 134kW. That means a 10% to 80% charge could be completed in as little as 26 minutes.
