MG Cyberster now available to order in the UK

MG Motors UK says it's ‘ready to exhilarate’ with the highly anticipated Cyberster. But what makes the all new Grand Tourers a cut above the rest? Read ahead for the full breakdown of the features.

The wait is over! After 18 months of anticipation, the Cyberster is now available to order in the UK. What’s more, MG Motors has confirmed drivers will be able to get their hands on the EV convertible as soon as August this year.

The single-motor MG Cyberster Trophy is available to buy from £54,995 OTR - comprehensive 7-year and 80,000-mile warranty included.

With unique features including signature scissor doors and a fully-electric fabric hood, Carl Gotham and the MG London design team created this rear-wheel drive to be a ‘compelling yet defined’ drive.

As for the power figures? You can expect 340PS (240kW) with maximum torque confirmed at 350 lb ft (475 Nm). Plus, the 0-62mph sprint is completed in 5 seconds.

The most powerful production model in MG’s 100-year history goes to the Cyberster GT. Priced at £59,995, this dual-motor, all wheel-drive delivers an impressive 503PS (375kW) and 725Nm (535 lb ft) of torque. The GT can spring from 0-62mph in just 3.2 seconds.

This ensures drivers have the best possible Cyberster experience while on the road - from long-distance touring right through to performance-focused options.

Comfort and style is at the heart of the Cyberster design. Its ‘luxurious and technologically advanced’ cabin houses 6-way adjustable heated seats with memory function and electric lumbar support. But it doesn’t stop there. The heated steering wheel features 4-way adjustability and twin paddles for kinetic regeneration - just another distinctive feature that justifies its ‘grand tourer for the electric age’ title.

And if that still isn’t enough to help you find pleasure in long-distance journeys, the roof-down motoring (a wind deflector between the front seats) keeps external noise to a minimum.

The Trophy and GT’s 77kWh battery ticks both the range and performance boxes. Maximum range (WLTP) for the Trophy is 316 miles and 276 miles for the more performance-focussed GT. We're expecting real world range figures to be around the 270-280 mark for the Cyberster Trophy and 220/230 miles for the GT.

For maximum energy efficiency and driving range, The Cyberster comes with Brembo brakes and three-mode regenerative. The Trophy features a 19-inch alloy Lightning-design wheel, while the GT wears a 20-inch Jetstream-design with Pirelli P Zero tyres for optimised performance and control.

The driving range for a sporting GT is strengthened by ultra-rapid DC charging up to 150kW, which allows for a charge of 10% to 80% to be delivered in as little as 38 minutes.

The addition of driver assistance features such as Lane Change and Blind Spot Detection ensures optimum safety while managing traffic conditions via the MG Pilot portal.

Drivers can also enjoy a wraparound three-screen cockpit, with a 10.25-inch driver display flanked by two 7-inch displays and touchscreen access to the dual-zone climate controls. Plus, you’ll never be short of entertainment thanks to the Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 8-speaker Bose sound system, DAB and voice recognition compatible features.

Handy solutions include a central armrest with storage, ambient lighting, sun visors with integrated mirrors, and a 12v power socket. Its 249-litre boot capacity makes the GT perfect for long weekends away.
