Tesla opens order book on 'next-level' Model 3 Performance

With a 0-60mph sprint time of 2.9 seconds and a peak power output of 460hp, the new Tesla Model 3 Performance certainly lives up to its name.

Tesla has opened the order books for the all-new Tesla Model 3 Performance, with the high performance electric car capable of hitting 60mph from a standing start in just 2.9 seconds.

The Elon Musk-owned carmaker is promising 'next level' performance with the drive unit being the most powerful ever fitted to the Model 3 saloon.

it isn't just the drivetrain that's been given an upgrade compared to the standard model, the EV benefits from some new lightweight wheels - known as warp wheels, upgraded brake calipers and rotors to control that additional power, as well as tweaks to the chassis.

Inside the Model 3 Performance, the driver and front passenger can enjoy new sports seats and there are some carbon fibre finishing touches in the cabin too.

Passengers in the back can make use of an integrated 8-inch touchscreen that includes climate controls, entertainment and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Tesla makes use of the Long Range battery found in the LR AWD model and has a WLTP range of 328 miles, so in the real world expect a range of around the 250-260 miles mark. The vehicle can also make use of ultra-rapid DC power too - capable of accepting up to 250kW of power.
