Skoda reveals the name of entry-level EV - Epiq!
Skoda has confirmed its entry-level EV will be called Epiq and will be officially unveiled in 2025.
With plans to release no less than six new EVs in the next few years, Skoda has revealed the name of its forthcoming entry-level EV and a series of images of a pre-production design of what the new model might look like.
Called Epiq (which we're sure is pronounced epic) the new EV will be officially revealed in 2025 but what the Czech brand has confirmed is that it will be a compact city car / SUV crossover.
With a target retail cost of 25,000 euros the Skoda Epiq will no doubt be a welcome addition to the more affordable end of the new car market.
While there's no official announcement of battery size, Skoda is aiming for a WLTP range of around 250 miles, indicating the Epiq will come equipped with a battery pack around the 50 kWh size.
The Skoda Epiq when it arrives will be the first new model to feature ' Modern Solid' design, the brand's new design language which aims to combine function with durability.
The Skoda Epiq isn't the next all electric Skoda we'll see either, with the Skoda Elroq slated in for a late 2024 release, this promises to be a compact SUV, sitting below the existing Enyaq in the growing Skoda EV line-up.
