Refreshed Renault Master van now with larger 87kWh battery

French manufacturer Renault has revealed a refresh to its Master van - including a new longer-range battery. Making its UK debut at the Commercial Vehicle Show in April 2024, the new Master E-Tech van joins the Trafic and Kangoo LCV range giving customers a choice of electric vans across the small, medium and large van segments.

At the heart of the van is an 87 kWh battery unit that gives a WLTP range of 285 miles. This also means that the additional battery capacity and 105kW electric motor gives the Master E-Tech a high payload capacity of 1,625kg. While towing capacity sits at 2.5 tonnes.

For vehicles needing to make use of high powered DC public charging the Master E-Tech can accept up to 130kW of DC juice, which means adding approximately 140 miles of range in 30 minutes. The model can also take advantage of fast AC charging up to 22kW, this means a four-hour full recharge for when the van is sitting idle at the work depot.

The aerodynamics of the refreshed model contribute to considerably lower energy consumption in the electric versions with a 20 per cent improvement on the outgoing Master van.

Inside the cabin, the new Renault Master has a range of creature comforts to turn the environment into a mini-mobile office, so things like the back of the middle seat turning into a small desk make working in the cabin a breeze. There's a convenient slot to store a laptop as well as USB-C ports to power devices.

There's more cabin storage space than the previous model, up to 135 litres now, with various spots to safely store things. There's a 10-inch touchscreen and for the first time on a LCV, Renault's OpenR Link system has been deployed, running and developed by Google, the system comes with, Google Assistant, Google Maps navigation and Google Play app catalogue as standard.
