Polestar 2 upgraded for 2026 with cutting-edge tech
Polestar continues to refine its popular Polestar 2 electric vehicle (EV), bringing an array of enhancements for the 2026 model year. The latest update focuses on improved technology, enhanced comfort, and a new premium audio system, making the Polestar 2 an even more compelling option for EV drivers.

Smarter, faster infotainment
One of the most notable upgrades is the introduction of a new Qualcomm Snapdragon processor chip. This upgrade improves the performance of the car’s infotainment system, allowing for faster download speeds for in-car apps, quicker response times, and a smoother overall experience on the center display. With these improvements, drivers can expect a more seamless interaction with their vehicle’s digital interface.
Premium sound experience
For audiophiles, Polestar now offers an optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system, designed to deliver an immersive sound experience. This high-end system includes 14 speakers with a total output of 1,350 watts, featuring Tweeter-on-Top technology for crystal-clear sound and Continuum midrange speakers to reduce distortion. Stylish stainless-steel mesh accents highlight the sophisticated design of this premium audio package.
New design elements
A fresh look accompanies the 2026 model year with the introduction of ‘Dune,’ a contemporary metallic color that replaces ‘Jupiter.’ Additionally, the Performance Pack now includes a newly designed, lightweight five-spoke 20-inch forged alloy wheel, adding to the car’s sleek aesthetic. Inside, a new bio-attributed MicroTech upholstery option in Charcoal, combined with Black Ash deco, offers a refined and sustainable interior choice as part of the Plus Pack.

Seamless Charging with Plug & Charge
Following the lead of the Polestar 3, the Polestar 2 now comes with Plug & Charge technology. This feature allows drivers to simply plug in at a compatible public charger, eliminating the need for multiple charging apps or cards. Once activated via the Polestar Charge app, the car automatically initiates and authenticates the charging process, streamlining the EV ownership experience.
Enhanced range and new package pptions
Drivers opting for the Standard Range Single Motor variant will benefit from a new 70 kWh battery from CATL, which replaces the previous 69 kWh LG Chem unit. This upgrade extends the range to an improved 554 km (WLTP). Additionally, Polestar is introducing a new Prime Pack, which bundles the Pilot, Plus, and Climate packs along with rear privacy glass, providing an attractive all-in-one upgrade option.
