Maxus UK distributor HQ expands again
Harris Group, the sole distributor of the Maxus range in the UK, have upsticks from Warrington to Liverpool to meet growing demand for EVs
The Harris Group, which is the sole distributor of Maxus vehicles in the UK (and other right hand drive European markets) has moved its headquarters to Liverpool. The opening ceremony was presided over by Liverpool's Lord Mayor, Councillor Roy Gladden.
The 52,000 sq ft premises are four times the size of its previous address and the brand has travelled west on the M62 motorway from Warrington to Liverpool, in the North West of England.
Although not exclusively an EV brand, Maxus is experienced significantly increases in sales of its range of EV light commercial vehicles - and has the UK's first pure electric pick-up added to its roster, the T90EV. The brand also has plans to expand its line-up into the passenger vehicle market with the recent launch of the Mifa 9 MVP-style car.
The brand is forecasting growth of over 200% in the UK for 2023, which much of those sales projections based on EV models. Over a third of Maxus sales in 2022 were of electric vehicles.
The new headquarters, located on the outskirts of Liverpool and close to both the M57 motorway and East Lancashire Road, will not only house their parts depot and technical and sales teams but also include a training academy for engineers working on Maxus vehicles at one of 50 dealers across the United Kingdom.
Maxus vehicles are produced in China by SAIC Motor Corporation one of the largest vehicle producers in the country. SAIC also manufacturers the MG Motors brand of EVs.
