Kia unveils EV4 and concept EV2 to expand electric lineup
Kia has revealed the all-new EV4 and Concept EV2 at Kia EV Day 2025 in Spain, marking a significant step in the brand’s electrification strategy. The unveiling introduces Kia’s first electric saloon and hatchback alongside a preview of a future B-segment electric SUV, broadening the appeal of electric vehicles (EVs) and accelerating their adoption.

The Concept EV2 previews an upcoming B-segment electric SUV, showcasing Kia’s commitment to expanding its EV offerings. Designed with urban mobility in mind, the Concept EV2 focuses on smart, immersive experiences tailored to modern lifestyles.
Kia EV4: A versatile new addition
The EV4 brings a fresh perspective to the C-segment, offering both saloon and hatchback body styles. Positioned as a practical yet stylish option, the EV4 blends innovation, advanced technology, and efficiency, appealing to a new generation of EV drivers. With a focus on aerodynamics, the long-range EV4 model can achieve up to 390 miles (WLTP) on a single charge, with ultra-fast 400V charging enabling a 10-80% top-up in just 31 minutes.
Powered by Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV4 features a 150kW motor capable of 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds. The model is designed to deliver both comfort and dynamic handling, incorporating advanced chassis technology and frequency-responsive suspension for a refined ride.
Technology and connectivity
The EV4 introduces cutting-edge digital and connectivity features, including:
- Digital Key 2.0 – Smartphone-based access and remote control, including Apple Watch compatibility.
- 30-inch widescreen infotainment system – Incorporating Kia’s latest connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), with streaming services such as YouTube and Netflix.
- Advanced regenerative braking – The i-Pedal 3.0 system adapts to driving conditions for improved efficiency and comfort.
- Over-the-air (OTA) updates – Enabling seamless software updates and personalised features.
Safety and driver assistance
Kia has equipped the EV4 with state-of-the-art safety and driver assistance technologies, including:
- Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2) – Advanced semi-autonomous driving features for enhanced safety.
- Euro NCAP five-star target rating – Optimised body structure with multi-load path battery protection.
- ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite – Featuring Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Following Assist, and Remote Parking Assist.
Design and practicality
The EV4’s design philosophy follows Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ approach, blending natural elements with futuristic styling. Key exterior features include a low nose, long-tail silhouette, vertical headlamps, and Kia’s EV Tiger Face, creating a distinctive, modern aesthetic. Inside, a minimalist yet high-tech interior prioritises space and functionality, with flexible storage solutions and an intuitive user interface.
Kia EV4 Production
The Kia EV4 saloon will be manufactured in Korea, with the hatchback produced in Slovakia for European markets. The EV4 is set to launch in Korea in March 2025, with further global rollouts, including UK specifications, to be confirmed later in the year.
