Futuristic design meets aerodynamic efficiency
The IONIQ 9 stands out with its ‘Aerosthetic’ design, blending aerodynamic efficiency with futuristic styling. Its smooth, curved roofline reduces drag, while the unique Parametric Pixel front-end lighting system and flush surfaces create a sophisticated image. The SUV’s low drag coefficient of 0.259 Cd enhances both performance and efficiency, making it a true leader in the electric vehicle market.
Hyundai has also focused on reducing weight for improved efficiency by using aluminium fenders and quarter panels. The IONIQ 9’s exterior design not only prioritises aerodynamics but also contributes to the vehicle's high-performance capabilities.
Driving performance and advanced features
Under the IONIQ 9’s sleek exterior lies Hyundai's innovative E-GMP architecture, ensuring optimal efficiency and safety. The platform enables smooth driving dynamics, with advanced torque control and a suspension system designed specifically for an all-electric SUV.
The IONIQ 9 offers a range of powertrain options, including rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations, with performance models capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.2 seconds. The SUV also provides towing capabilities, with up to 2,500 kg for European models and 5,000 lbs for North American versions.
Inside, passengers enjoy a range of luxury features, including a premium audio system, advanced climate control, and USB-C ports for uninterrupted device charging. The IONIQ 9 also prioritises health and hygiene with a UV-C steriliser for disinfecting small items inside the vehicle.
When will it arrive in the UK?
The IONIQ 9 will be available in South Korea and the United States in the first half of 2025, with subsequent rollouts in Europe and other markets. With its combination of space, technology, and eco-conscious design, the IONIQ 9 is not only an ideal choice for today’s families but also a symbol of the greener, smarter future we’re all striving towards.
