Full specs and pricing revealed for the all- new Hyundai INSTER Electric SUV

Hyundai has officially unveiled pricing and specification details for the INSTER, a fully electric small SUV for the European market. Aimed at urban drivers who want flexibility for longer journeys, the INSTER starts at £23,495, making it an attractive option for those looking for affordability, style, and electric performance.

Small SUV, Big Range

Despite its compact size, the INSTER offers a range of up to 229 miles on a single charge, making it perfect for daily commutes and road trips alike. Powered by a 42kWh battery with an optional 49kWh upgrade, the INSTER allows drivers to tailor their car to their needs. The Long-Range 49kWh model boosts range to 229 miles and ups the power from 97 PS to 115 PS, while both versions deliver 147 Nm of torque for smooth urban driving.

With an 11kW onboard charger and high-efficiency heat pump as standard, the INSTER ensures efficient charging and minimal time at the plug. Even with colder UK weather, the battery heating system keeps the car’s range and charge times optimised.

Modern Design

Hyundai has infused the INSTER with design elements from its IONIQ family, including the pixel-style front bumper and sleek SUV profile. Drivers can personalise the look with LED projection headlamps and a two-tone colour option featuring a black roof.

With a choice of 15-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels (depending on trim), the INSTER's clean lines, LED lighting signatures, and bold skid plates give it a distinctive look. Its compact size is paired with a sporty edge, making it a stylish option for city streets.

Interior Features

Inside, the INSTER cabin design is smart and versatile, it has a 10.25-inch digital cluster and touchscreen infotainment system, including navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto and a wireless charging dock.

All seats can fold flat—including the driver’s seat—allowing for increased cargo space. The walk-through front-row access is another clever touch, making the INSTER as practical as it is stylish.

V2L Capable

One of the INSTER’s standout features is its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing drivers to charge external devices using the car’s battery. Whether powering a laptop, electric bike, or camping equipment, this bi-directional charging system makes the INSTER a practical companion for tech-savvy users.

Safety as Standard

Hyundai has packed the INSTER with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for added safety. Features like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Smart Cruise Control with stop/go come standard. Parking is made easier with a Surround View Monitor and Rear-View Monitor, while Blind-spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance help with manoeuvring in tight spaces.

Trim Levels and Pricing

The entry-level INSTER 01, priced from £23,495, includes 15-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, rear parking sensors, keyless entry, and Bluelink connected car services with over-the-air updates. The 01 model also features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and smart cruise control.
