Fisker Ocean Extreme confirms impressive vehicle range

The driving range of the all-electric Fisker Ocean Extreme has been confirmed as 440 miles, with deliveries of the new SUV expected to start in Europe in May.

The electric range, which exceeds previous estimates, is the longest range of any battery electric SUV sold in Europe today. The Fisker Ocean also has up to 550hp and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

These figures are based on WLTP test to determine, so as we always say at DriveElectric the 'real world' range of the Fisker Ocean will vary depending on factors such as weather and temperature conditions and the speed the vehicle is travelling at.

The Ocean is available in three versions: Extreme, Ultra, and Sport, plus the launch edition ‘One’. All versions have a ‘Hyper Range’ battery and dual motor all-wheel drive apart from the Sport which has a ‘Touring Range’ battery and single motor and front-wheel drive.

Extreme and One versions feature a full-length SolarSky roof which can help to provide energy for the car’s battery; Fisker claims that the SolarSky roof can generate up to 1,500 miles per year, or possibly over 2,000 miles under ideal conditions.

You can also use the car’s PowerBank bidirectional charging system to power items of electrical equipment, another EV, or even a house – potentially for up to seven days.

The Fisker Ocean’s Smart Traction feature is designed to distribute the right amount of torque to the correct wheels for optimal traction while handling sharp turns, as well as improving stability and traction on wet and icy roads.

The optional 17.1-inch Revolve rotating center screen can swivel from Control Mode - a portrait view - to Hollywood Mode - a landscape 16:9 widescreen format - allowing you to enjoy movies and videos, complete with 360° sound, in an immersive cinematic experience.

California Mode allows you to open six side windows (including the rearmost ‘Doggie’ windows), the rear window, and the roof simultaneously with just one button to transform the SUV into a convertible.

The Ocean can also park itself using Park My Car, Fisker's optional automatic parking assist system.

The Fisker Ocean is available from £35,970 in Sport trim; Ultra trim costs £49,880; the Fisker Ocean Extreme and the launch-edition Fisker Ocean One both cost £60,880.

The first European Fisker Centers+ will open in Vienna and Copenhagen on 11 April 2023, with additional Centers+ and Lounges across Europe and the US opening throughout 2023.

Fisker’s mission is to create the ‘most sustainable SUV on Earth’.
