Prices and specifications have been announced for the Lotus Eletre, one of the most eagerly anticipated new electric cars.

The Lotus Eletre is described as a ‘Hyper-SUV’, and there will be three versions - the Eletre – starting from £89,500 – and the Eletre S and Eletre R.

The Lotus Eletre will have two powertrains. The Eletre and Eletre S will produce 603 hp and 710 Nm of torque, delivering a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 4.5 seconds – with an electric driving range of up to 373 miles.

The Eletre R – the world’s fastest dual-motor pure electric SUV – will develop 905 hp and 985 Nm of torque, delivering a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 2.95 seconds, with an electric driving range of up to 304 miles.

All versions will have a 112 kWh battery with a 10%-80% charging time of just 20 minutes using a rapid charger.

As standard the Eletre comes with five drive modes, active air suspension, torque vectoring, matrix LED headlights, active front grille, 22-inch 10-spoke forged wheels, wireless smartphone charging, 12-way electrically adjustable front seats and four-zone automatic climate control.

The Eletre S costs £104,500. The specification includes privacy glass, active rear spoiler, configurable ambient lighting, illuminated side sills, soft door close, auto-dimming side mirrors and an air quality system. It also includes a 2,160-watt, 23-speaker KEF Reference Audio.

The Eletre R, with a top speed of 165 mph, is priced at £120,000. The Eletre R features Track Mode and has a lowered ride height and more performance-oriented settings. Track mode includes a fully open active grille and launch control. The standard specification also includes Lotus Dynamic Handling Pack, Carbon Fibre Pack, gloss black wheels, stainless steel sports pedals, black badging and high-performance tyres.

In the UK the Eletre will have 22-inch wheels as standard, although 20-inch and 23-inch wheels are available.

All versions of the Eletre feature five seats as standard, with a four-seat version available as part of the Executive Seat Pack. There’s even a 688-litre boot in the case of the five-seat version, or a 611-litre boot for the four-seat variant.

The Lotus Eletre is a collaboration between teams in the UK and Germany, and Lotus Tech engineering and manufacturing teams in Wuhan, China.

Customer deliveries of the Lotus Eletre start during the first half of 2023.
