CALLUM unveils its first own-brand electric car: the SKYE CALLUM
The SKYE CALLUM, CALLUM's first all-electric vehicle is unveile, With handling and maximum comfort, this high-performance, all-wheel-drive model is built to resist the demanding circumstances of a range of off-road terrains.
Here’s something a bit different: the CALLUM SKYE is a high-performance, all-wheel drive, multi-terrain electric vehicle with a 2+2 enclosed seating layout and a 0-60mph acceleration time of less than 4 seconds.

The aim appears to be to engineer the lightest possible vehicle, with a weight of just 1,150kg, which is impressive for an EV. However to achieve this lightweight, a relatively small 42kWh battery has had to be used, which results in a limited driving range of (WLTP) 170 miles. CALLUM says that customers are able to specify an advanced, ultra-fast charging battery capable of an empty-to-full charge in under ten minutes. A battery with similar properties has been developed by Nyobolt, a Cambridge-based company, so it will be interesting to see if this is the battery technology in question.

The CALLUM SKYE measures four metres in length and 1,900mm in width; it has a space frame chassis with trail-capable suspension and 50/50 weight distribution. CALLUM claims that in addition to its off-road capabilities, the SKYE will also offer a combination of handling and ride quality that will make it rewarding to drive on twisty country roads.
CALLUM SKYE is the company’s first own-brand vehicle fully conceived, designed and engineered in-house. The SKYE is currently undergoing testing in advance of details about its specifications being announced in spring 2024.
The company believes that the SKYE addresses a gap in the market, just as the BAC Mono is unique in providing a road-going single-seater supercar experience for owners that already have a range of other vehicles. We wait to see what it will cost with interest; this doesn’t sound like a mainstream 4x4 competitor in terms of price.

CALLUM is a design and engineering business that was established in July 2019 with founding members including British designer Ian Callum CBE, who has already designed an impressive 4x4 EV, the Jaguar I-PACE.
