All-electric BYD ATTO 2 revealed: compact SUV set to arrive in Europe
BYD, a global leader in new-energy vehicles, has introduced its most accessible SUV yet in Europe—the ATTO 2. Slightly smaller than the popular ATTO 3 SUV, the ATTO 2 is designed with urban adventurers in mind. This compact electric vehicle combines sleek styling, innovative technology, and practicality. Equipped with BYD’s Blade Battery and groundbreaking Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction, the ATTO 2 delivers an elevated driving experience without compromising on premium features or affordability.
Making its public debut at the Brussels Motor Show, the ATTO 2 complements the larger BYD ATTO 3, further solidifying BYD’s growing presence in the European market.
The ATTO 2 blends bold SUV-inspired design with a compact footprint tailored for city life. Measuring 4,310mm in length, 1,830mm in width, and 1,675mm in height, it’s 145mm shorter and 45mm narrower than the ATTO 3, while retaining a strong visual presence. A 2,620mm wheelbase enhances cabin space, while short overhangs improve agility and manoeuvrability in urban environments.
From the front, the ATTO 2 stands out with integrated LED headlights, sleek daytime-running lights, and a dynamic front grille with bright accents. Sculpted side panels, a “floating” roofline, and distinctive alloy wheels emphasise its modern, energetic design. At the rear, the car features a full-width light bar and unique “Chinese knot” tail lights, symbolising endless good luck.
Available in Climbing Grey as standard, the ATTO 2 also offers Hiking Green, Skiing White, and Cosmos Black as optional finishes.
Premium interior
Inside, the ATTO 2 combines sharp geometric design with practicality and comfort. High-quality materials, integrated door handles, and soft-touch surfaces enhance the cabin’s premium feel. The centre console includes thoughtfully placed cupholders, storage areas, and a diamond-cut drive selector for a touch of sophistication.
BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 delivers a completely flat floor, maximising space for rear passengers. The panoramic glass roof floods the cabin with natural light, while the boot offers 400 litres of storage, expandable to 1,340 litres with the rear seats folded—making the ATTO 2 versatile enough for family use.
Revolutionary technology for performance and safety
At the heart of the ATTO 2 lies BYD’s acclaimed Blade Battery, offering exceptional safety, durability, and efficiency. Using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, the Blade Battery outperforms conventional lithium-ion options in thermal stability, lifespan, and environmental sustainability, being entirely free of cobalt and nickel.
The Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction—an industry first in the compact SUV segment—integrates the battery directly into the vehicle’s chassis. This innovation improves structural rigidity, optimises space, and enhances overall safety and handling.
Power and range
At launch, the ATTO 2 comes with a 45.1 kWh battery, delivering a WLTP range of 312 kilometres. Its 130 kW electric motor ensures responsive performance, ideal for urban commutes and beyond. A larger battery option, offering extended range, will be available later this year.
