All electric Audi A6 e-tron arrives

Audi's e-tron range is expanding with the launch of the A6 e-tron later this year.

The first Sportback and Avant (estate) all electric models from the German brand, the A6 e-tron was originally previewed way back in 2021 at the Shanghai Auto Show.

This is the second model to be built on the brand's PPE platform after the Audi Q6 e-tron - and shares many of the technological advancement seen on the its SUV sibling. There's a large 94.9 kWh battery pack which gives WLTP range figures of around 450 miles for the Sportback and 430 miles on the Avant.

Real world range figures remain to be seen but we're expecting figures well North of 300 miles regardless of model and configuration.

The Audi A6 e-tron is the latest EV to benefit from 800v technology which enables it to benefit from the fastest DC charging speeds on the public network.

So under the right conditions, the A6 e-tron can accept up to 270kW of DC power. The vehicle's state of charge can go from 10% to 80% capacity in as little as 21 minutes. With around 150 real world range miles capable of being added in just 10 minutes.

Two versions of the A6 will be available to UK customers at launch, the A6 Sportback/Avant e-tron performance and the S6 Sportback/Avant e-tron.

The performance models come with 270 kW of power, with the electric motor positioned on the rear axle, while the S6 receives an all-wheel drive drivetrain and 370 kW of grunt.

Both models offer seriously brisk acceleration, with the A6 performance taking 5.4 seconds to go from zero to 62mph, while the S6 shaves 1.5 seconds from that time.

Audi has confirmed that further trims and power outputs will join the A6 e-tron range in the future.

Inside the EV there's all the executive and premium finishing touches you'd expect to find in an Audi A6. One of the nice features includes Active Privacy mode which allows the front seat passenger to stream video content that doesn't distract the driver.
