Electric car schemes

Helping power the green revolution

With more electric vehicles on the road, we can help power the green revolution in the UK and ensure we get closer to the NetZero targets. We can also assist business owners with boosting their carbon footprint and enhancing their reputation through our EV business leasing schemes. Plus, our EV salary sacrifice scheme helps employees get all the benefits of electric cars in a tax-efficient way too.

Our electric vehicle schemes

At DriveElectric, your business can benefit from:

  • Electric vehicle leasing

Whether you want to lease new or used electric vehicles or cars or vans, we have the solution for you. Choose from short term FlexiHire or longer term business contract hire to suit the needs of your organisation.

Take your first steps towards an all-electric fleet or add new EVs to your existing electric fleet.

  • EV salary sacrifice

We help your business implement a suitable salary sacrifice scheme that works for you and your employees. Your eligible employees then sacrifice some of their gross salary to pay for the lease. They can even include the cost of a home charger and insurance into the lease too. We’ll help you set payroll up to reflect the changes, saving both your business and your employees income tax.

Government electric car schemes

As well as the electric car schemes available through us at DriveElectric, there is also a range of government schemes for electric cars. They include:

  • Workplace Charging Scheme

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme to install electric car chargers at business premises. It can cover up to 75% of the cost of installation and a maximum of £350 for each socket. You can install up to 40 sockets through the scheme.

In order to qualify for this government EV scheme, your business must be registered with Companies House. You must also own the business premises or have permission from the landlord to install the chargers. You’ll need to use an authorised installer to fit the charging points too.

  • Electric Vehicle Homecharger Scheme (EVHS)

This government electric car scheme is designed to help EV drivers pay to install electric charging points at home.

The EVHS helps offset up to £350 of the cost of installing a residential charger. Initially the scheme was only available to homeowners who live in houses, but it has now also been extended to cover people who live in flats and those in rented accommodation too.

To qualify for the scheme, you’ll need to live somewhere with off-street parking and drive an eligible electric car. You also must use an approved charger and installation company.

  • On-street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS)

The ORCS ensures local authorities have funds to put towards the cost of installing on-street residential EV chargers. This will be used by people who don’t have off-street parking and can’t get a charger installed at home.
