About the Volvo EX40 electric car
Previously called the XC40 Recharge, in 2024 Volvo made a few changes to the names of their electric models, so let's meet the EX40.
A mid-sized all-electric SUV, full of excellent features making it a great electric car lease option for both business and personal customers. The dynamic mid-size SUV has plenty of space for passengers and luggage enabling the whole family to enjoy safe and comfortable journeys. When you lease the Volvo EX40 electric car, you can benefit from zero emissions and low running costs.
Charging the Volvo EX40
The Volvo EX40 electric car comes with a 75 kWh battery and is easy to charge both at home and on the road. When charging this electric vehicle, you access the left side – rear charging port and plug in via a Type 2 (generally for home charging) or CCS (rapid charging) connection. At home on a dedicated 7 kW home electric car charger, it will take around 11 hours to charge from flat to full.
The electric car can also be topped quickly up using a public charger, as it can accept up to 140kW of DC power, which if plugged into an ultra-rapid charger can mean a 10% to 80% charge in under 30 minutes.
Drivers can select from single motor and twin motor options, plus there's also a Performance software update that increases Twin Motor versions from 408hp to 442hp.
