With a blistering 0-62mph time and sleek body shape the Polestar 2 is an aggressive looking performance electric vehicle - all with enough room to cart the kids around.

Now, performance is an important factor when choosing an electric vehicle, and as established the Polestar is an incredibly quick car. The Polestar's real party-piece though is understated but far more important. Sustainability. The vegan friendly interior has been recognised by PETA and even been awarded a Compassionate Business Award.

To our eyes the Polestar 2 is pretty much the best looking car on the road and manages to walk a fine balance between futurism and traditional car design - which makes it design classic.

The Polestar 2 is offered in a few different configurations, each of which prioritises key aspect of the electric vehicle driving experience.

Dual Motor - Long Range (75kWh battery)

With a blistering 0-62mph time, this iteration focusses on all-out acceleration. The dual motors provide a top speed of 127 mph and a will propel drivers to 62mph in just 4.7 seconds. The official WLTP range is still very impressive though, getting a purported 300 miles from a single charge. At DriveElectric however, we prefer to use a 'real world' range so customers aren't disappointed if there is a drop in range. As such, we recommend this model will achieve a more realistic 245 miles.

Charging at home from a standard 7kW wall-box charger, with a Type 2 connector, will take around 12 hours to fill. Find a 150kW rapid charger however, and it'll charge 10-80% in just over 30 minutes.

Single Motor - Long Range (75kWh battery)

If squeezing every mile from an EV is at the top of the priority list, then this is the model to go for. With a WLTP range of 336 miles and a 'real world' range of 265 miles, this Polestar 2 will keep going and going. The 0-62 mph sprint time of 7.2 seconds is hardly pedestrian.

Single Motor - Standard Range (67kWh battery)

The entry point onto the Polestar 2 ladder is still above and beyond most other electric vehicle offerings. The WLTP range sits at a respectable 295 miles, with the 'real world' range dropping slightly to 240 miles. In comparison with previously mentioned Polestar variations this may seem low, but 240 miles of range is still more than most other EVs offer.

Charging from 0-100% at home using a standard 7kWh wall-box charger using a Type 2 connector takes around 10 hours 45 minutes. Find a 150kW rapid charger out on the road, and the Polestar 2 will go from 10-80% charge in just 33 minutes.
