About the Lexus UX 300e
Luxury carmaker Lexus is no stranger to producing cutting-edge SUVs. The UX 300e however, is not just their first electric SUV, but their first en-masse all-electric vehicle. But don’t let that deter. The Japanese automaker is a seasoned manufacturer and prides itself on build quality. Produced in their award-winning Kyushu plant, the Lexus UX 300e ships with an eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty. Lexus specialises in peace of mind.
Design wise, the Lexus takes style cues from the Toyota bZ4x and Subaru Solterra – both direct competitors for the UX 300e. Much like those models, it’s an inoffensive exterior that doesn’t shout about the fact it’s an EV.
Positioned as a luxury family car, the interior has plenty of cabin space and tech. Apple CarPlay/Android Auto are integrated into the centre-dash via a screen, with a separate 7” TFT screen serving as the instrument cluster.
Charging the Lexus UX 300e
The Lexus UX 300e is offered with a 45kWh battery.
This grants the Lexus an official WLTP range of 196 miles from a single charge. At DriveElectric we also provide a ‘real world’ mileage figure for all our lease vehicles – just so there are no surprises whilst out on the road. As such, we’d recommend a more realistic range of 145 miles per charge.
Utilising a Type 2 connector, the Lexus can charge to 100% using a 7kW domestic charger in just 8 hours 15 minutes. Switch over to a CHAdeMO connector, and the battery can be charged from 10-80% via a 50kW rapid charger in just over an hour.
