About the Nissan Leaf electric car lease

First introduced in 2010 the Nissan LEAF has become a hugely popular electric car worldwide. Now in its second-generation body, the LEAF has been designed specifically for a lithium-ion battery-powered chassis and is now available to lease through DriveElectric. The newest model (released in 2018) is a medium-size hatchback that comfortably seats five adults, making it perfect for those of us with larger families or plenty of friends.

How long does it take to charge the Nissan Leaf?

The Nissan Leaf houses a 40kWh battery and has an official range of up to 168 miles WLTP (our real-world driving estimate is 150 miles) on a single charge. Charging this electric car is simple and you can recharge at home fully in around 7 hours.
If you are on the go and need to top up on the go, you can do this by using a public rapid charger in just under 45 minutes (up to 80% charge).

New in 2022 is a larger 60kWh version of the Leaf which provides more range (but takes longer to charge).
